End-to-end integrated cooling ecosystems are built around liquid- to-liquid coolant distribution units (CDU) and Technology Cooling System (TCS). These are the control centers of liquid cooling, managing flow, temperature and filtration with precision, ensuring stability and performance at the server level.
High temperature chillers enable free cooling and reduce energy consumption by rejecting heat efficiently, even in warmer climates. Heat rejection chillers ensure reliable heat removal across the system, maintaining optimal operating conditions with higher energy efficiency.
Liquid-to-air CDUs can also be integrated, creating hybrid environments that bridge the gap between liquid-cooled servers and traditional air-cooled white spaces. And conventional air cooling still plays a role, supporting auxiliary spaces and acting as a backup layer in a hybrid thermal strategy.

While liquid cooling is undoubtedly the future, especially for AI and high-performance computing data centers, air cooling is not about to disappear. Indeed, the need for air cooling solutions will increase in parallel, as both approaches complement each other in hybrid architectures. Even in liquid- cooled environments, air remains a key part of the thermal equation. For this reason Schneider Electric continues to develop and deliver the leading portfolio of air cooling solutions available today. For example, direct-to-chip liquid cooling still requires air cooling for 10 to 30% of the heat load. Whereas a 130kW rack requires 10 to 40kW of air cooling.
